WICKED SMAHHT is back! Sunday, October 4 @10:30 a.m.
Do you like knowing the why's, when's, and how's? Most of Christianity is pretty easy to understand. God loves you, Christ died for you, the Holy Spirit is there to guide you. Easy! But there are also some crunchy bits. How was the Bible formed? Who wrote the book of Genesis? What was Jesus' theology? Is the church the same now as it was in Paul's time? If you want to explore the deeper parts of the faith, join us on Sunday mornings for a new, reimagined, and ongoing WICKED SMAAHT!
We kick off with Prison: Theology of the Heart Set Free - see you there! |

You don't need to be a pastor, teacher, or Bible expert. You need to care about people, be willing to listen, be dependable, and be willing to let God use you.
We're asking you to give us a year. This isn't a drop-in volunteer opportunity. There is an application and approval process that can take a couple of months, and Prison Fellowship provides good, extensive training to prepare you for serving inside. But it is well worth the investment.

| PRISON MINISTRY
Some of the people most in need of friendship, hope, grace, and the love of God live just a few miles from NEC. Come serve with us through Prison Fellowship. On Mondays and Thursdays, teams from NEC go into the prison here in Franklin to lead discussion groups about God, faith, real life, and real answers. We listen. We talk. We ask questions. We build relationships. And week after week, we get the privilege of walking alongside men who are thinking seriously about their lives, their faith, and their futures. And you may be surprised by how much you get out of it. Prison ministry is challenging, but it is also deeply fulfilling. The conversations are real. The relationships matter. And it's hard to think of a more meaningful way to serve one of the neediest communities right here in Franklin. This year is an especially good year to join us: Prison Fellowship is celebrating 50 years of ministry. Founded in 1976 after Chuck Colson's own experience of incarceration and transformation, Prison Fellowship has spent half a century equipping local churches to encounter Jesus with people behind bars and bring justice, mercy, and hope where they're needed most. Could the next year of that story include you? Give us a year. Come see what God does with it. |

Celebrate Recovery covers a wide range of life's "hurts, habits, and hang-ups," including various addictions (alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling), co-dependency, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, anger issues, grief, abuse, perfectionism, and dysfunctional family patterns. The program uses a biblically-based, Christ-centered approach, combining the 12 steps of recovery with the 8 Beatitudes to provide a supportive community where individuals can find healing and personal growth by accepting responsibility for their struggles.
