We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
— 1 Thessalonians 2:8

Our mission

NEC wants to once again offer an opportunity for women to build authentic and meaningful relationships so they can experience, embrace, and express the love of God in Jesus Christ. This ministry prayerfully connects a mentor and mentee in a safe and supportive atmosphere. With God at the center - two ordinary women help each other explore the process of letting God bring out the best in them.

The Mentor

For this pilot program, the mentor team (Heather Kempskie, Laura Laird and Leslie Wardrop) are in the process of prayerfully identifying asking specific individuals to serve as mentors. It is important that a mentor is faithful and growing spiritually; is a good listener; shares what God has done in her life and can guide and encourage others. She lets God lead and has a solid faith that she can articulate.

The lead team will provide training, support and resources for you and be available to assist you to develop healthy relationships between you and the mentee while prayerfully seeking God's guidance. Basically - we are there for you via email, call or in person to help at any time!

The Mentee

The team will prayerfully match each mentor with someone who is seeking to enrich their spiritual journeythrough guidance, wisdom, and support. Someone who is open to spiritual growth, willing to be vulnerable, teachable and wanting to apply what they learn to their life. We pray that the mentee actively engages in the mentorship relationship, and possess a willingness to share their thoughts and experiences. That they have a commitment to the work that it takes to grow in their faith and consistency in their participation.

The Promise

This ministry is ongoing. We ask each mentor and mentee to commit to a 6-month period where they meet once a week. The leader team will provide quarterly mentor training, resources and various touchpoints along the way.
