Find a Community That Gives You Life

Whether it’s a mom-to-mom’s group, some guys to go fishing with, or an in-depth Bible study, you’ll find folks just like you here at NEC. Take a look at some of the opportunities below and click on the image if you would like more info!

What are “groups”?

Groups at NEC (sometimes called “small groups”) are, well, small groups of people that meet once a week (or so) to talk about life, share what’s going on, learn something new, and generally do life together. You can be in one or several, they meet throughout the week, and new ones are starting all of the time.

What are “Journey groups”?

Most people who haven’t been in an NEC group before start with a simple, seven-week Journey group. That’s the best way to see how NEC groups “work,” and to meet some new people, without having to know anything or anybody.

Do I need to be a member to join a group?

Nope. You don't even have to go to this church. 🙂 NEC wants to provide you with every opportunity to connect, in the way that is most comfortable for you.

Does everybody already know each other?

No. There are some long-standing groups of course; but many, if not most, are new—which means that everyone will be in the same boat as you. 😉

Can I change groups?

Absolutely! Move around and try different groups until you find one that “fits.”

How do I sign up?

It’s easy! Click on any of the images above to get to the group you’re looking for, or let us help you find one. You can also just drop by Guest Services on a Sunday morning. They’d be happy to see you!

Who can help me learn more?

The Small Groups Team can! Email us at smallgroups@nechapel.org. 😁

Being in a group is a lot of fun! 😊

But leading a group? That can give meaning and purpose to your life. It can be hard sometimes (you should read that again, for effect 😉), but the most fulfilled you can be here is as a leader—a teacher and caregiver and listener—of other people. If you feel up to the task, and you’re willing to put some real work and time into it, we encourage you to start the process by applying to be an NEC small group leader.

You can’t know what great things God can do through you until you give him the chance…
